In episode one Liz looks beyond the Youtube sensations to unpick the science behind why the most unlikely animals can overcome their natural instincts to either eat or avoid each other and form close bonds. She’ll come face to face with these extraordinary and entertaining animal odd couples to discover what binds these animals together – whether they meet by chance, or are put together by us.

In episode two Liz explores the odd couplings of man and beast but we’re not talking about cats and dogs, these are some of the most dangerous animals on the planet: lions, hippos, bison and even polar bears! Liz will meet these extraordinary people and through interviews she’ll explore the eccentricities and challenges of living day to day with these unusual animals. Liz will also meet some of world’s leading zoologists and animal behaviourists to uncover new insights that explain why these relationships occur. These couples are not just freak occurrences; there is real science to explain these bonds.
